The Lie of the Land: Who really cares for the Countryside. Guy Shrubsole

Only read the sample, but this book is an indictment of the situation in the UK where so-called landowners (in the upper house, non-elected) are "advising" on land policies. Their interest lies not in really looking after the countryside, but in furthering their agenda.

Another England Caroline Lukas

Only read the sample, but Caroline, as the first Green MP writes of her time in Westminster. It's a damming reveal of the lack of action on Climate Change and the wasteland that the UK political has become. Difficult to see any change coming anythime soon.

The Truths we Hold Kamala Harris

Factual, but not really interesting. Vanilla writing.

The Reactionary Mind Corey Robin Only read the sample, but it seems to me this author has found a fairly comprehensie list of the major differences (problems) between left and right minds. There is a short video.

The Deficit Myth: Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) Stephanie Kelton This is, apparently, the textbook on MMT. Interesting and and rich in detail.
Autocracy Inc. Anne Applebaum Just read the sample, but watched several videos. Most disturbing. The West is walking into a huge problem - asleep!
The Master Builder Henrik Ibsen   Saw a recommendation for this play somewhere - din't thinkmuch of it.
Make is So! Patrick Steward Autobiography, glad I got this for only £1 because it isn't very good.
The Admirable Mr. Crighton J. M. Barrie A very play ( also a black and white film) to highlight the class divide in early 20th century UK. It has not aged at all well.
Dear Me (Arrow Autobiography) Peter Ustinov An erudite man who wrote really well. Lots of words about the people he met. His background is ver rich. Enjoyable.
The Salt Path Raynor Winn A prize-winning book based on the real-life of a couple of "special" people.
Last Words George Carlin Autobiography which goes through his childhood and progress of his entertaining years. A bit to much about the aspects his career rather than the characters he met.
The Trading Game Gary Stephenson Another one of these books on how "City" traders misbehave, both financially and socially. Why we as a society have "developed" into one where this so-called job is even a thing is beyond me. Not just capitalism gone rogue...
