The Promised Land |
A film set in Denmark about an army captain who attempts against all odds to cultivate a heath. Can't go much wrong with Mads Mikkelsen. A very powerful story which gets me all wound up. |
The Man Who Never Was |
A WWII movie with all the standard English atros from the time. About the use of a man's body for a counter intelligence operation. |
Hillbilly Elegy |
Apparently from a book by Trump's selection for VP. A difficult beginning in like. That part of the US has generally been a problem, the dominance of coal and very poor and poorly educated folk, I believe. Serious acting. |

Enola Holmes |
An interesting series (Netflix) to do with detective work, cryptology and Victorian characters. Fun! |
Leave the World Behind |
A rather good tale of a distopian world, not far removed from where we are right now. The way we humans percieve ourselves and how badly we are managing what we do and our planet - it rings quite true. Well acted by all concerned. |
In the Land of Saints and Sinners |
Excellent acting Liam Neeson and several others. No end to violence. |

Made in Italy |
Story about a house (lovely) in Italy. Someone (Liam Neeson) seems to have needed to pay his taxes. His son is also in the flick. Not special. Best part was the landscape.

A rather dated film of the play B J M Barrie.
Father Goose |

A rather silly flick with Cary Grant.
Dreaming of England |
A cute Swedish TV series about a small town.
Robin Williams: A Life in 10 Photos |
A well done presentation of some of the highlights of his life presented by a few key individuals. He continues to come across as a troubled man, but the talent shines through in such a wonderful way. I wasn't aware he had the dementia with his Parkinson's.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets |
Have watched this before, but it was enjoyable. A light-hearted Scifi movie.
Arnold |
Netflix 3 episodes about Noldi. Quite a lot better than I thought it would be. Apart from the bodybuilding and films he explains quite well what he did as governour of California.
Monsieur Chocolat |
A comic couple in a travelling circus. Staring Omar Sy. Seemingly based on a true story.
Annika |

Sad flick about a couple who loose a baby. Well acted by Melissa McCarthy
Love at first Sight |

Romcom, good dialogue. I sat next to a girl on a flight from the US to London in the 70s. Didn't happen to me.

Stillwater |
